Mode Spotlight - TM7 Exclusive
Steaming mode allows you to cook generous portions with ease. With the larger Varoma®, Thermomix® makes it simple to steam whole sides of salmon, vibrant vegetables and more all at once, and all to perfection.
Steaming mode gently cooks food in the Varoma® and simmering basket using precisely controlled heat and steam. Liquid in the mixing bowl is heated to generate steam, which rises and distributes evenly across throughout the Varoma® and simmering basket.
Busy families needing an easy way to prepare full meals in one go.
Health-conscious cooks who want to lock in nutrients and flavour without using oils or fats.
Batch cookers wanting to steam in larger quantities using multi-level cooking.

• Make sure ingredients are chopped to similar sizes so they steam at the same rate.
• Don’t overcrowd the Varoma® dish and tray. Make sure you leave some holes uncovered to allow steam to circulate.
• Line the Varoma® tray with damp baking paper for delicate foods like fish or dumplings to stop them sticking.
• Place ingredients that take longer to cook such as root vegetables in the Varoma dish, and quicker cooking items like greens in the Varoma® tray.
• Steam vegetables in the Varoma® whilst another dish like soup is cooking in the mixing bowl.
• Use the simmering basket alongside Varoma® to cook a third ingredient or alone to steam smaller amounts of food directly in the mixing bowl.
• Make sure to add a minimum of 500 g of water to the mixing bowl for 30 minutes steaming. Add an additional 250 g water for every additional 15 minutes of steaming.
• Choose between the different steaming options (Simmering basket, Varoma® or both) to ensure best results.
• For safe handling after cooking, always lift the Varoma® lid away from your face and body.
