    or savoy cabbage, cut in strips
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 150 g onions, quartered
  • 150 g carrots, cut in pieces (2 cm)
  • 150 g tinned chopped tomatoes
  • 30 g olive oil
  • 100 g smoked bacon, diced
  • 150 g white wine
  • 1 dried bay leaf
  • 2 vegetable stock cubes (for 0.5 l each)
    or 2 heaped tsp vegetable stock paste, homemade
  • 1 dried red chilli
  • 100 g pork belly, boneless, skinless, sliced
  • 250 g pork spare ribs
  • 1 farinheira sausage
    or 1 smoked pork sausage
  • ½ chorizo, sliced (approx. 100 g)
  • 200 - 250 g black pudding (whole)
  • 1000 g tinned butter beans, rinsed, drained
