  • 350 g pork belly, cut into pieces (5 cm) (see Variation)
  • 3 - 4 fresh shiitake mushrooms (approx. 50 g)
  • 25 g carrot
  • 20 g canned water chestnuts, drained and cut into halves
  • 5 - 10 g piece fresh ginger, peeled and cut into thin slices
  • 20 g spring onion/shallot, cut into pieces (2 cm)
  • 2 pinches ground white pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 20 g soy sauce
  • 600 g water
